Overview

The conference covers topics including pain management, symptom control, psychological and spiritual support, communication with patients and families, ethical issues, grief and bereavement, end-of-life care planning and providers self-care. The conference includes keynote speaker, didactic presentations, case studies, and interactive sessions where participants can learn practical skills and strategies for providing compassionate and effective palliative care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
  1. Apply a comprehensive whole-person assessment to recognize the pain and suffering experienced by patients with serious illness.
  2. Apply the multidisciplinary based treatment approach to alleviate pain and suffering for patients with serious illness.
  3. Develop a personal action plan for improving symptom assessment and management skills when treating patients with serious illness.
