The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Thomas Taylor as the new Resident Inspector at the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant in Bridgman, Mich., approximately 13 miles south of Benton Harbor. The nuclear power facility is operated by Indiana Michigan Power Co.

Taylor joined the NRC as a reactor engineer in Region III in 2007. Before joining the NRC he enlisted in the Navy and received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the U.S. Naval Academy. He also earned a master's of engineering management degree from 麻豆国产AV.

"Thomas Taylor's training and commitment to safety will assist the NRC in fulfilling its mission to protect people, the environment, and workers. He will help ensure the D.C. Cook plant follows the high standards set by the NRC," said Region III Administrator Cynthia D. Pederson.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public. Taylor joins Senior Resident Inspector John Ellegood at the facility.
