Our congratulations to Alex Gaggiotti ('21 Computer Science major, Cybersecurity minor, and studies German) on being awarded an internship with the Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP)! NREIP provides an opportunity for college students to participate in research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory during the summer. The goals of NREIP are to encourage participating college students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and their participation in research, and to make them aware of DoN research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN. NREIP provided competitive research internships to approximately 800 college students this year. Participating students spend ten weeks during the summer conducting research at one of 45 DoN laboratories. Alex will begin his internship at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) in Norfolk in May. We wish him every success!
