Rates Effective Fall 2024
This is the official site for Â鶹¹ú²úAV (Â鶹¹ú²úAV) tuition rates. Rates listed on this page are effective Fall 2024. Previous Tuition Rates remain in effect through Summer 2024. There are additional fees and charges depending on academic standing, housing arrangements and other factors.
- There is no maximum tuition amount for students.
- All tuition charges are based on a per-credit-hour rate.
- Tuition rates are subject to change by the Board of Visitors (BOV) each Spring.
The University term "tuition" refers to the comprehensive per-credit-hour rate which includes funding for instructional programs, academic services and activities, as well as auxiliary funding of $148.00 per credit hour for recreational sports, student activities, and intercollegiate athletics.

Active Duty Military Tuition Rates
Effective Fall 2018, a Military Tuition Rate is available for eligible undergraduate active duty military personnel enrolled in degree or non-degree seeking, for-credit courses offered on campus or online.
- NOTE:Â Students who apply as active duty military will have their active duty status verified via SCRA website
- Military students utilizing VA Educational Benefits may have their semester charges deferred.Â
Technology-Delivered Courses
Outside Virginia &/or the United States
Rate applicable to students enrolled in courses delivered via technology outside of Virginia and/or the United States.
NOTE:Â Distance Learning students who relocate to Virginia are not guaranteed the in-state tuition rate. Normal domicile rules apply.Â

Student Transition Fee - $75 |
The New Student Transition Fee will be assessed to all new degree-seeking, non-distance undergraduate students and covers orientation and other transition-to-college programming.
The fee will be included in the tuition billing statement and is due by tuition deadline. |

General Services Fee - $18 | All students pay this fee each semester, regardless of the number of classes taken. Student Health Fee - $170 Summer optional ($53) |
The Student Health Fee is mandatory for students meeting the criteria below:
Undergraduate students taking 6 or more credit hours must pay this fee each semester. Graduate students taking 6 or more credit hours must pay this fee each semester. The fee is not charged for students taking all off-campus courses. If any courses are officially designated as Norfolk Campus courses, then the fee is mandatory. |

Transportation Fee - $63 Not charged in Summer Sessions |
The transportation fee is paid once each semester by all students. However, no fee is charged during the summer term. The fee is charged for students taking courses officially designated as Norfolk campus courses.
If any courses are officially designated as Norfolk campus courses, then the transportation fee is mandatory. |
Mandatory - Fees applicable to all students, including those enrolled in student teaching, dissertation, theses, and GRAD 999 unless otherwise noted. This fee is not charged in the summer. | ||

International Student Health Insurance Fall (202410): |
Health insurance charges are posted directly to the student's billing statement and are due on the tuition deadlines for the academic year. International students have the option of participating in the University's Payment Plan available in Fall and Spring semesters only. Fall Semester (Aug-Dec) - $1,177. Charges due by Fall tuition deadline. Spring Semester & Summer (Jan-July) $1,632. Charges due by Spring tuition deadline. Non-credit students enrolled in the English Language Center Program will be charged based on the session. Tuition and fees for non-credit programs are due at the time of enrollment. |
