How to Audition
- Step One:听听Complete audition form .
- Step Two:听听Choose your date. Sign up for January 14 or 15 .
- Step Three:听Prepare鈥� there are two separate auditions see instructions below.
What to Expect:
- Everyone will audition first (individually) for听The Tempest, then be sent to audition for听Corduroy听in groups of five people. You are encouraged to audition for both shows, but may choose to only audition for one.
- Corduroy听auditions will require you to MOVE - wear comfortable clothing for rolling and scrambling on the floor, please!
Corduroy Auditions (in groups)
For the audition, nothing needs to be memorized, just come prepared to move 鈥� meaning you will be on the ground, climbing and rolling around. We are not looking for Olympic-style gymnastics 鈥� we want to see what YOUR body can do.听However, if you do have special skills, don鈥檛 be shy - let us know!!听
Show Description:听Corduroy, based on the 1969 classic book, is the story of Lisa, who knew just what a little stuffed bear needs - a friend. 麻豆国产AV鈥檚 production of Corduroy is based around classical European clowning techniques.听
Please watch the videos below for examples of clowning style. While not exactly what we鈥檒l be doing, you鈥檒l get the idea of the sort of specifics clowning takes.听听

The Tempest Auditions
Show Description:听The听Tempest听offers听a large variety of roles, from young lovers and island听spirits to monsters and comics. We are looking for actors of all skills听and听levels of experience!
For the audition, memorize听one听of the monologues below. Both are spoken by Caliban in the play, but you can create any character and situation of your imagination that听works for the听text. What matters is that you decide who you are talking to and听why, so that听you are not simply reciting.听 Don't worry about getting Shakespeare听right听(there is no such thing), just make it yours.听听
Chose one of the following monologues:
Option A:
Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices
That, if I then had waked after long sleep,
Will make me sleep again: and then, in dreaming,
The clouds methought would open and show riches
Ready to drop upon me that, when I waked,
I cried to dream again.
Option B:
This island's mine, by Sycorax my mother,
Which thou takest from me. When thou camest first,
Thou strokedst me and madest much of me, wouldst give me
Water with berries in't, and teach me how
To name the bigger light, and how the less,
That burn by day and night: and then I loved thee
And show'd thee all the qualities o' the isle,
The fresh springs, brine-pits, barren place and fertile:
Cursed be I that did so! All the charms
Of Sycorax, toads, beetles, bats, light on you!
